Briggs Marine has been appointed as the AtoN Maintenance Partner for The Port of Milford Haven, which will see the provision of Buoy and Beacon Maintenance Services for the next 6 years.
The recent contract win for Briggs Marine to provide the UK’s top energy port with Aids to Navigation maintenance services, will involve periodic servicing of no less than 36 buoys and 6 beacons to not only ensure compliance but create a safe and navigable channel for users of The Haven.
As Wales’s busiest port, handling a 5th of all Britain’s seaborne trade in oil and gas, it is imperative that Milford Haven’s Aids to Navigation meet the high standards set by IALA for this task.
Commenting on the award, Marine Director & Harbourmaster at Milford Haven Port Authority, Mike Ryan commented
“In addition to maintaining the highest level of navigational safety within the port, we are really keen to drive continuous improvement and are very confident that Briggs Marine will work hand in glove with us to achieve this.”
Adding to this, Briggs Marine’s Mooring and Aids to Navigation General Manager, Malcolm Duncan said:
“We are delighted to have secured this Buoy and Beacon contract and to continue our work for The Port of Milford Haven. We enjoy an excellent working relationship with The Port and expect this to develop further over the next 6 years.”
