The Role
Briggs Marine is currently looking for an experienced Cable Jointer to join its service and test team.
Main Duties
- Work on our clients’ HV & LV Network, carrying out jointing work on a pre-planned and quick response basis
- Utilise testing equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot faults, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
- Maintain accurate records of all jointing activities, including diagrams, test results and documentation of materials used
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers and other team members to ensure seamless execution of jointing projects
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding project timelines, progress and any potential issues
- Ensure your own safety and that of your colleagues, while actively promoting and embodying a strong safety culture in all aspects of your work
- Promptly address any emergency situations to ensure we deliver exceptional support to our clients when they need us most
- Mentor & Train jointer mates
- Opportunity to work offshore carrying out cable terminations and assist with HV Testing
The Candidate
- Proven experience in the DNO industry within the UK or overseas.
- A recognised cable jointing qualification from an accredited training institution.
- Expertise in jointing XLPE, ERP, PILC, or fluid-filled cables within the 11kV to 33kV voltage range.
- A strong track record of working with DNOs, with DNO authorisations being a significant advantage.
- Comprehensive HV and LV electrical knowledge.
- Familiarity with a variety of cable types and jointing techniques.
- Be capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Hold a full, clean driving licence and demonstrate a willingness to travel when required.
