Computer Based Courses 

Briggs Environmental Services and Cresent have produced a series of interactive spill response programmes. These innovative e-learning packages can be accessed by anyone, anywhere, at any time via the internet.

 The courses are as follows:

  •  DBEIS (OPEP) Level 1 On Scene Responder Training (Accredited by the Nautical Institute on behalf of DBEIS)
  •  Inland Basic Responder Training (Accredited by the International Spill Accreditation Association)
  •  Offshore Basic Responder Training

DBEIS (OPEP) Level 1 On scene Responder

Programme Overview: This course provides delegates with detailed skills and knowledge to be capable of responding effectively and safely to an oil pollution incident offshore.

The course will make delegates aware of their key roles and responsibilities in dealing with the risk of pollution offshore and responding accordingly.

Programme Content:

  • Assessing the situation
  • Evaluating the spill
  • Understanding the consequences
  • Activating Contingency Plans
  • Reporting spills

Inland Basic Spill Responder Course

Who would benefit: Anyone that might have to tackle a minor oil or chemical spill at their place of work.

Programme Content: The syllabus focuses on:

  • Assessing the risk
  • Identifying the substance
  • Selection of correct PPE
  • Safely responding to spills using their own response equipment

Offshore Basic Spill Responder Course

Who would benefit: Anyone that might have to tackle a minor oil or chemical spill at their place of work.
