Procurement & Logistics Assistant

Location: Burntisland

An exciting opportunity currently exists to join Briggs, an expanding company specialising in the supply of Marine and Environmental services. A proactive and experienced Procurement Assistant, reporting to the Procurement and Logistics Manager, your role is to assist in the management of all aspects of the procurement function. The ideal candidate will be an active communicator, self-motivated and be a team player with the ability to promote ideas to increase efficiency.

In this role, you will need to have the demonstrable and essential experiences in the following areas:

• Sourcing goods, materials and services required by the Group
• Administration of Purchase Ledger accounts as directed by the Procurement & Logistics Manager
• Assisting with stock audits
• Maintaining detailed records and accounts in an accurate and timely manner
• Working with and supporting each division in achieving its business plan target

Your technical profile will reflect the following skill set:

• Familiarisation and application of the latest guidelines specific to the procurement function
• CIPS qualified, or an equivalent would be advantageous but not essential
• Good knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft Excel in particular)
• Understanding of Sage software and utilisation would be advantageous
• The ability to source and assess suppliers to ensure best value-for-money

A flexible working attitude is required to provide support across all departments to ensure team success and be open to any changes on working practices and/or development within the role.
